Insurance

I am not in-network with any insurance providers. This gives me the freedom to customize your treatment to your needs instead of being dictated by your insurance company.

You can use FSA or HSA to pay for my services. Many of my clients also use out-of-network insurance benefits to receive partial or full reimbursement for their treatment with me. Reimbursement varies from plan to plan.

Mentaya offers excellent help with navigating this process. You can read about their services and FAQ here. The app Reimbursify can also be helpful.

If you’re more of a do-it-yourself type:

- Check your insurance company’s website for your “Summary of Benefits.” You’re looking for mental health or behavioral health benefits.

- Call your insurance company to verify your benefits. Often, the number is listed on the back of your insurance card.

Questions to ask your insurance company:

- What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health? Is this separate from my in-network deductible?

- How much of my deductible has been met this year?

- What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health? At what rate will I be reimbursed for out-of-network services?

- Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?

- How do I submit my superbill?

After verifying your benefits:

You must pay for your sessions at the time of service. I will provide you with monthly or quarterly (your choice) forms via email. These forms are called superbills. You’ll submit these following the instructions given to you by your insurance company, and (if you qualify) receive payment from them.
